Wrapping up WoW

Posted in WildStar, WoW by Armagon on December 23, 2014

Yesterday I did three notable things.

First I dinged 100 on my Shadow Priest, then I broke the 610 iLvl pre-heroic barrier on my Shaman. Then I cancelled my WoW account.

It’s not *bad*, but it’s not awesome either. I had quite some fun, levelling the first char was moderately interesting, levelling the second was still nice, levelling number 3 and 4 was more a hassle, but I enjoyed it because I enjoy playing those classes. If I was in any way interested in raiding, I’d stick to my guild on my old server, where quite a few people have returned, are recruiting and I wish them the best of luck for 10+ man Heroic (which used to be Normal, right?). But just doing Heroics is not for me, I mostly despise the random morons in LFD. And I’m also not keen on levelling a 5th time to 100. I might be back for a month when 6.1 hits, that sounds like a better plan.

My Medic is Level 20 now and I’m looking forward to more time spent in WildStar and EVE, less in my garrisons.

The MMO Trinity

Posted in WildStar, WoW by Armagon on December 18, 2014

I just dinged 100 on my Orc Shaman, so the trinity of MMOs is complete once again.

  • Assassination Rogue (DPS)
  • Protection Warrior (Tank)
  • Restoration Shaman (Healer)

Now I just need to gear up the last two and try out some heroics. The Shammy already has the 640 Ring, but both are severely lacking in Garrison resource funds for the Level 3 Garrison.

Silver DPS Proving Grounds were no problem, but Bronze Healing was close on first try. I should read up on Talents, Glyphs and reorganize my bars.

  • The Shaman has 1h /played at Level 100 and 6 epic followers.
  • The Warrior has 5h /played at Level 100 and 2 epic followers.
  • The Rogue has 43h /played at Level 100 and only 5 epic followers (as of this morning).

Oh, and for WildStar, my Stalker hit 47 and started Southern Grimvault today. So close…

For the… Alliance?

Posted in WoW by Armagon on January 27, 2014

Been busy with levelling a Dwarf Shammy on a different server where some friends play and got recruited for a Herald of the Titans run and capped XP at 80 and been collecting some 226 gear right now.

As that char was blocked now I started to level my original “hi, I’m visiting” character, a Gnome Rogue, which hit Outland and then 60 yesterday.

Shaman: Introduction

Posted in WoW by Armagon on October 19, 2009

Hi, I’m a Shaman!

My latest level 80 character is a female Orc Shaman I levelled as Enhancement and switched to Elemental/Restoration at some point close to 80. The most notable trait is probably the (for me uncommon) low Achievement point score of 1995 (and that’s after some time at 80 and inevitable stuff) and a “Bloodsail Admiral” title I’ve not worked much for thanks to a certain Druid that let me tag along 🙂

Spreadsheets

As much as I appreciate people making Spreadsheets I could slap ’em every time I see a new one.

Seperation of logic and presentation.

It’s like when a doctor sees you touching a wound with dirty fingers, it’s like a construction worker sees you running on rusty nails in sandals. It makes us programmers cry. STOP IT.

I know it’s harder to create a website or write a module for Rawr – but it’s better. People don’t have to adjust their spec, gear, enchants, gems every time you update your spreadsheet. No, just enter the name and server and click “import”.

Still all the great minds of theorycrafting seem to prefer crappy Excel spreadsheets. Bonus points if it doesn’t work in OpenOffice. More bonus points if you start to drop T7 quality stuff because they have better gear now. You may as well not release it at all then, thank you.

On the other hand we have the people who make websites but get the formulas wrong. Seriously, start cooperating…
